Bushiri gets R200 000 bail

The magistrate warned the couple not to make any threats to witnesses and the prosecuting team.

Self-proclaimed “prophet” Shepherd Bushiri, his wife Mary and two others were granted bail with conditions when they appeared at the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Wednesday.

The Bushiris were granted bail of R200 000 each, while Landiwe Ntlokwana was granted R100 000 bail.

Accused Zethu Mudolo was granted R20 000 bail. The accused are facing charges of fraud, money laundering and contravention of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

Magistrate Thandi Theledi warned the couple not to make any threats to witnesses and the prosecuting team.

NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said they noted the comments and decision by the presiding officer.

“We respect the decision of the court.”

All the accused are expected to be back in court on Friday when accused Willah Mudolo will be applying for bail.
