The most important part of the programme is to educate learners on how to report such incidents.

Erasmia police embarked on a safe schools programme aimed at eradicating drugs at local schools.

On Tuesday, Erasmia police station commander Lt Colonel Thandi Mokgoetsi and her team (which included sector 1 commander Sergeant Ezrom Baloyi and social crime prevention coordinator Sergeant Calvin Shaai) visited the Edu Clinic Learning Centre as part of the programme.

The team managed to engage and interact with both learners and educators on issues affecting them such as bullying and the use of drugs.

The most important part of the programme was to inform and educate the learners on how to report such incidents, said Mokgoetsi.

“Now that we are nearing the festive season, I urge parents to ensure that they are always vigilant and they know the whereabouts of their children at all times,” said Mokgoetsi.

She said that various awareness campaigns across Erasmia policing precinct have been conducted in the past three months.
