Olievenhoutbosch police station under new management

This after police minister Bheki Cele met with the local community last month over policing shortcomings in the area.

Acting Tshwane district police commissioner Brigadier Charles Matji has welcomed the newly-appointed station commander and visible policing commander for Olievenhoutsbosch police station.

This comes after police minister Bheki Cele met with the community of Olievenhoutsbosch last month, over-policing shortcomings in the area.

Lieutenant-Colonel Gert Adolf Corbett and Captain Abdul Rahman Damon were appointed earlier this month.

Corbett brings 36 years of experience and has previously worked at the Mamelodi East station as a visible policing operational commander.

Damon started his career back in 1993. He previously worked at the Silverton police station as a crime prevention commander.

Corbett emphasised that the new management would restore and strengthen community partnership with various stakeholders.

“We have identified hot spots and we will be deploying more resources to curb the targeted crimes. Restoring discipline of the police officers in Olievenhoutsbosch will be the most internal priority,” he said.

Matji said both Corbett and Damon would bring a wealth of operational experience, intelligence, fearless and dedication to serve the community of Olievenhoutsbosch.
