Police nab 47 suspects over the weekend
"Most suspects who were arrested this past week were charged with domestically related offence known as assault common."
Rietgat police nabbed 47 suspects in regards to various crimes across their policing precinct this past week.
“They were nabbed through intelligence-driven operations and swift responses to combating crime within the community,” said police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka.
Maluleka said most of the suspects were charged with domestic violence-related offences such as common assault.
Other charges included malicious damage to property; drunk driving; dealing in drugs; reckless and negligent driving; common robbery; burglary at business premises; contravention of protection orders; and possession of drugs.

Rietgat station commander Brigadier Molatelo Maphoto said the community should continue working closely with the police in reporting all crimes.
“We appreciate your efforts. The information you share with us is always positive; keep doing what you are doing, it means a lot to us.”
Maluleka said all arrested suspects will soon appear before the Soshanguve magistrate’s court.
