Water restricted in east of Pretoria

Suburbs serviced by the Constantia Park and Mooikloof reservoirs would be affected.

Water supply to several suburbs in the east of Pretoria was constrained by the Tshwane metro as a result of constrained water supply from Rand Water and high water consumption.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the Constantia Park and Mooikloof reservoirs were severely affected by the constrained supply and consumption rate.

“The water levels at these two reservoirs have reached critical levels which resulted in water supply interruption in areas that are supplied by these reservoirs.

The areas which were affected included:

– Constantia Park

– Erasmusrand

– Erasmuskloof

– Garsfontein 374-JR

– Moreleta Park

– Newslands

– Waterkloof 378-JR

– Waterkloof Glen

– Waterkloof Heights

– Waterkloof Ridge

– Waterkloof Park

– Faerie Glen

– Garsfontein Extensions 10, 11 and 13

– Moreleta Park Extensions 9, 63 and 83

– Pretorius Park

– Tweefontein 372-JR

– Rietfontein 375-JR

– Valley Farm 379-JR

– Valley Farm AH

– Zwavelpoort 373-JR

– Prairie Giants Extension 3

“Tankers are being arranged to supply the affected areas with water,” Mashigo said, adding they urged residents to use water sparingly and apologised for any inconvenience which was caused.
