Missing Pretoria North teenager found
“We have been contacted and verified that Caitlin is safe and sound.”
A 17-year-old Pretoria North girl who went missing on Tuesday afternoon, was found safe and unharmed earlier on Thursday afternoon.
Caitlin Guthrie’s caregiver, Nadia du Toit, opened a missing person file report soon after she realised the 17-year-old was missing.
She was last seen at her home in Loerie Street in the Haakdoornboom area, in the north of Pretoria, around 16:00 on Tuesday.
Du Toit said due to the sensitivity of the case no further information is available at this time.
“We have been contacted and it has been verified that Caitlin is safe and sound.
“We would like to thank Cobie Jansen van Rensburg and the community members from sector three and four for swift action, to the K9 Diego and his handler, Warrick Gibbs, for taking scent trails, and to the man on horseback who assisted in flanking and communications as well as Carina Bam from the crisis centre.
“And then to every person who helped search for Caitlin,” the Du Toit family said.
Du Toit said that between 15:00 and 16:00 on Tuesday, Caitlin told her she was going outside.
“When I went out to look for her, I realised that she was gone.
