Robber gets 42 years in jail

The man, who reportedly terrorised the Pretoria North community, was handed a 42-year jail term.

A lengthy jail term was handed down to Lucas Hlungwane following the meticulous work of Pretoria North police station’s Sergeant Titus Mmotong.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Tsakani Miyen said it was through thorough investigations by Sergeant Mmotong that Hlungwane was handed down a 42-year jail term.

“His [Sergeant Mmotong’s] love for thorough investigation made sure that Hlungwane, who was terrorising people in the plots just outside Pretoria North, was imprisoned for 42 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and six other charges,” she said.

Miyen further said the Pretoria North SAPS management extended its gratitude to the first responders and other members who were involved for their professionalism as they handled cases and the management of crime scenes which led to positive outcomes.
