Thine said the operation had begun on Wednesday evening with detectives tracing identified wanted suspects.
“Some of the other success we made included the recovery of stolen cables,” he said.
The suspects were expected to remain detained as the police’s investigations continued.
An unknown number of undocumented foreign nationals were also said to have been arrested during the lengthy operation.
“We know that this area has a problem with undocumented persons committing crimes,” he said.
Additional successes included the closure of illegal shebeens and illegal liquor confiscated.
Thine further warned residents that they were “all over” in the Wonderboompoort and Pretoria North policing precincts to curb crime.
