Police searching for truck driver following east accident
Six people, including three children, perished when a vehicle and a truck collided on the N4 earlier this week.
Local police are searching for the driver of a truck who was involved in a collision that left six people dead in the east of Pretoria this week.
The six people, including three children, died when a vehicle and a truck collided on the N4 on Tuesday night.
Silverton police spokesperson Warrant Officer Isaac Mculu said the driver of the truck fled the scene after the crash.
“We are investigating a case of culpable homicide. The truck driver is still on the run,” he said.
ER24 paramedics earlier said that all the six victims died at the scene.
“Medics found a man and woman lying trapped inside the front of the vehicle. An elderly woman, two boys and a girl, believed to be aged three, eight and 12, were found seated in the rear of the car.
“Assessments showed that, unfortunately, all six of them were already dead,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
