Come and view the Jakaranda Lights at Greenlyn Market
"Unfortunately for the second year in a row, we will not be able to host our traditional Liggiesfees at our premises at the children's home."
This year, the Jakaranda Children’s Home annual “Liggiesfees” will again take place at The Night Light Market@Greenlyn from December 11 to 19.
The 11th annual “Liggiesfees” did not take place at the children’s home last year, due to strict Covid-19 regulations.
“Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, we will not be able to host it at our premises at the children’s home,” said CEO of Jakaranda Children’s Home, Charlene Grobler.
But there’s no reason for gloom, she said.

“Last year EnterActive Productions hosted our lights at their unbelievable Night Light Market.
“Together with our lights, and their beautiful night market, they raised much-needed funds for us.
“We are privileged they have chosen to join hands with us again this year,” said a thankful Grobler.
Grobler said 2020 was a financially tough year for the children’s home.

“We are, however, pushing ahead and slowly making it to the other side.
“Therefore, we have good news as EnterActive Productions will again host the ‘Liggiesfees’ to raise much-needed funds to assist us with covering expenses until our next funding comes in.”
Two-thirds of the tickets sold will be donated to the children’s home.

This year’s Liggiefees offers “beautiful, bright, Christmas-themed stalls and friendly vendors who offer handicrafts and gifts, freshly-baked goods and delicious regional and local specialities”.
A decade ago, Jakaranda Children’s Home decided to host a magical festival season filled with lights, love and laughter for its children.
Ten years later, the Liggiesfees has grown into one of the most popular festivals in Pretoria.
