Radio presenter fights GBV with music
He said he decided to take a stand in showing other men that they can play a part in fighting GBV.
Tshepo Motau (24) known as TSP Devine from Mamelodi East ext. 17 is a seasoned radio presenter who has decided to do something about GBV in the area.
He has been hosting the morning drive show on Mams Radio 92.9 and has already earned a reputation among listeners as the number one breakfast show of any community radio station in the Tshwane region.
His passion for radio started a long time ago and today he specialises as a voice-over artist, singer, scriptwriter and budding entrepreneur.
TSP Devine said he was born and bred in Mamelodi and his upbringing was engulfed with gender-based violence cases all over including some of his family members.
He said he decided to take a stand in showing other men that they can play a part in fighting this scourge.

“Music has amplified a lot of voices to spread out about various issues,” said TSP Devine.
He added that his music wants to make men aware that they have a big responsibility to play a bigger role in fighting fight against GBV wherever it appears.
“Music has given the power to such men who can become beacons in fighting GBV.”
He is also known for his unique style of presenting which mixes Mamelodi Lingo, English and Setswana a style that attracts both the young and the old.
TSP Devine said on the music side of things he has adorned stages with the biggest artists in SA and shot a couple of music videos with the biggest stars in the entertainment industry.
His message to the youth of Mamelodi is to “carry the future of our country and community forward and for those taking drugs as an escape, it’s up to us as younger leaders to show our peers a better way”.
“The future belongs to us and we must all be prepared to make sacrifices for the sake of our future,” he said.
He concluded that he is also uplifting communities and taking many social scourges like GBV among others head-on through creativity and absolute passion.
