Hoërskool Die Wilgers’ Marike Pauw and Petronell Clifford, both grade 11, recently participated in the South African Schools Equestrian Championships at Kyalami this past holiday.
These two learners represented Gauteng during the championships.
Pauw, who has been selected for the second consecutive year, came fourth in the freestyle dressage, obtained seventh place in the level 5 performance riding as well as a 10th position in the in-hand utility discipline.
Clifford, who represented her province for the first time, placed fourth in the 85cm stadium event.
Organiser of equestrian sport at Die Wilgers, Ronel Pienaar, congratulated her two learners.
“Hoërskool Die Wilgers’ equestrians are going from strength-to-strength each year.
“We are very proud of their performance and we are excited to see what the future entails for them,” she said.
