Two arrested in Hammanskraal for dealing in drugs

Temba police arrested a 31-year-old man in Mmotla Village in Hammanskraal on Monday for dealing in drugs.
“Police were patrolling the area when they noticed a suspicious-looking man standing by the side of the road,” said Temba police spokesperson Seargent Herman Moremi.
“He was searched and found to be in the possession of small packs of drugs wrapped in brown plastic bags.”


Over a hundred sachets were found along with 31 balls of dagga wrapped in newspapers.
Moremi said the man was also found with money suspected to be made selling drugs.


“The money was seized as be part of the investigation.”
The suspect will appear in the Moretele magistrate’s court facing possession of drugs charges.
In a separate incident, the Tshwane metro police’s drug unit arrested a 30-year-old man on Saturday for also dealing in and being in possession of drugs in Hammanskraal.


According to a statement by the metro police, they received a tip-off from the public about a white VW polo doing deliveries in that area.

The vehicle was traced and the suspect was found with nyaope and crystal meth with an estimated street value of close to R100 000.
“Well done to the team and the community members assisting the police in curbing the scourge of drugs in our communities,” the statement read.
