Supersport back to form; coach talks about managing the squad
United are enjoying their unbeaten start to the season.
Unbeaten SuperSport United jumped to third place after a comfortable 2-0 win over Baroka this past weekend.
United coach Kaitano Tembo said the club was taking it one game at a time despite an unbeaten start to the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.
“We had a good start to the season so far collecting 15 points in seven games, but it is still early in the season and we are taking it one game at a time. There has been an improvement from last season’s corresponding fixtures managing to collect points which we dropped last season.

“Managing our squad will be key this season in terms of playing time to avoid fatigue and injuries because we have had our key players being called up to represent their respective national teams.”
Seven of United’s players represented their countries two weeks ago. Tembo said he was proud of his players who were recognised to represent their countries.
“As a club, we are very proud to be contributing in terms of producing players who have the quality to go on and represent their countries. We are particularly impressed with the recognition and selection of Jesse Donn and Luke Fleurs into the Bafana setup. This can only make them work harder and be an inspiration to other young players in the team,” he said.
The Pretoria club has a tough game against Kaizer Chiefs this Sunday.
Chiefs are coming off a morale-boosting performance and result against Chippa United.
“It’s going to be a tough game like all the games we have played so far this season. We are preparing for this game the same way we prepare for all our games.
“The players are looking forward to the game,” Tembo said.
