The 14-year-old girl was walking in Itireleng informal settlement when the incident happened, said Laudium police spokesperson Sergeant Simon Chokoe.
“As she was walking, the teenager was approached by a man who forcefully grabbed her by the hand and took her to a room in the informal settlement where he allegedly raped her,” said Chokoe.
He said that the teenager was rescued by a community member.
