Local author set to launch latest book about her perspective on life, love and family

"This book does not have answers, but tips and advice on how you can reach your full potential and to unlock the ultimate best version of yourself."

Valerie Mmaphaka, an author, inspirational coach and motivational speaker from Pretoria West, will publish her fifth book in November.

The title of her new book, My perspective Redefined will be launched at LeBabamboo guest lodge in Proclamation Hill in Pretoria West on Saturday, November 20.

According to Mmaphaka, we are all facing life from the same vantage point, we go through similar experiences at different times, in different ways and at different levels of intensity.

“At the end of the day, this is life for the living and it will unfold as it should. What will set us apart is our different perspectives.

“Our perspective on life, love, relationship and family, rely on our attitude, choices and experiences.

“This book does not have answers, but tips and advice on how you can reach your full potential and unlock the ultimate best version of yourself,” she said.

Through motivational speaking and writing inspirational quotes that she shared with her social media followers, she was inspired to share her thoughts through books.

“I then pronged into writing books that tackles everyday life issues that influence our perspective on life,” she said.

Her first two self-published books titled, Point of View my Perspective and Point of View – my Perspective Elaborated were launched in 2019.

“This inspired me to challenge myself to self-publish three more books by end of 2019 that focused on relationships, love and family. It was a challenging commitment I’ve made to myself and vowed to stick to it. This is also part of my journey of evolution into the best version of myself.”

Now more than ever, most South African families and youth need some kind of guidance and motivation to believe in love and plant the seed of love in families and reduce rate of divorces, abuse and motivate youth to be better leaders in their communities.

“I have since been invited to be a programme director as well as motivate youth and women through motivational speaking and inspirational coaching for private and prestigious events such as women empowerment events, South African government internship programmes, orientation workshops and memorial services.

“In 2015 my article was featured in an international Christian magazine called Marriage Life in their November issue, under a topic that motivate love, family and personal growth.”

Mmaphaka is also involved in a lot of charity programmes.

“They say charity begins at home, my heart and mind are my home. I do charity through donations. At first, I used to donate to various organisations.

“I do unofficial charitable work via donation of stationery, clothing and sanitary towels.

“I will soon start with the jump start donation drive, a stationery drive and the sanitary pads donation drive. I will also donate storybooks to grade R and grade 1 learners with the aim of building mini-libraries at primary schools in the near future as the project progresses,” she added.
