Sundowns Ladies crowned champions of Africa
Following their impressive win, President Cyril Ramaphosa took to social media to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were crowned the inaugural Caf Women’s Champions League winners on Friday night following their 2-0 win over Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana.
The final was played at the 30 June stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
The Brazilians booked their place in the final of the continent’s premier women’s tournament thanks to a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout victory against Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo Kings in their semi-final clash.

The Pretoria side, who went into the final without conceding any goal, cruised to a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Chuene Morifi and Andisiwe Mgcoyi.
Following their impressive win, President Cyril Ramaphosa took to social media to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
“National congratulations to the women of Mamelodi Sundowns for your triumph in the CAF Women’s Champions League. You’ve done your club and country proud. Well done and enjoy your celebration,” he said in a tweet.
“Congratulations to Sundowns Ladies for winning the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League title. You have made the country proud,” Banyana Banyana said in a tweet.
Friday night’s triumph means that both the men’s and women’s teams at Mamelodi Sundowns have now won the biggest club competition on the African continent.
