AfriForum supplies Pretoria West residents with 8 000 liters of water

"This initiative is just another proof that if we stand together we can accomplish a lot."

AfriForum’s Wes-Moot branch  recently provided water to Mountain View, Tuine and Daspoort residents after these areas were without water when Tshwane Metro had to do emergency repairs to a 450mm water pipe.

The West Moot branch helped several nursing homes and families who could not get water by filling their water carts to provide water to these people.

About 8 000 litres of water were supplied to the community between November 19 to 21.

AfriForum’s district coordinator for Greater Pretoria North, Sampie Steinberg, said that communities like these that take ownership and solve their problems themselves are an example of the way forward.

“It is an honour for me that our branch can support the community with small deeds like this. So many members of the community have brought bottles that we have filled.

“This initiative is more proof that if we stand together, we can accomplish a lot.

“The residents appreciated it so much and it’s so rewarding to put a smile on someone’s face and know that we made a difference,” he says.

Steinberg urge the West community to become actively involved with the branch.

“Willing hands and support make such contributions possible,” says Steinberg.
