Suspected business robber still in ICU

He was shot following a high-speed chase in Centurion on Monday.

A suspected business robber who was shot in Centurion on Monday is still in ICU.

The man, along with another suspect, was arrested in Raslouw following a high-speed chase involving Monitor Net security company in Hennopspark.

JP le Roux, Monitor Net spokesperson, said this happened after they responded to a call about a business robbery in Hennopspark.

The duo was charged with attempted murder, reckless and negligent driving and possession of the stolen vehicle, said Weirdapark police spokesperson Sergeant Divine Nkuna.

“Local security company spotted three men in an Audi A3 acting suspiciously along Jakaranda Street. As soon as the trio saw the security officers, they sped off which then resulted in a high-speed chase,” she said.

During the chase, the suspects rammed the Monitor Net vehicle.

“A passenger from the A3 also started shooting at the officers chasing them.”

The officers retaliated and fired several shots back.
