Entries to select Villieria CPF committee will close soon

"The goal of the CPF is to secure a partnership between the police and the community to effectively protect the community."

A general meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, in Villieria for the re-election of the executive committee for Villieria CPF.

The meeting will start at 19:00 at the Valley Methodist church, on the corners of 29th Avenue and Ben Swart Street in Villieria.

A meeting was suppose to take place early in December 2021, but due to a few Covid-19 cases, the meeting was postponed.

“The goal of the CPF is to secure a partnership between the police and the community to effectively protect the community.

“It is important that residents realise the CPF committees represent residents and, therefore, it is necessary to elect a committee that they trust to fulfil the role,” Andrews said.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the Villieria police station’s client service centre and be placed in the box at the reception of the police station.

Warrant Officer Marinda Austin said the CPF is a legal body that – on behalf of the residents – could ensure that police acted responsibly, transparently and effectively.
