Olievenhoutbosch police have welcomed the sentencing of two men, one for murder and another for possession of an unlicenced firearm.
The two, aged between 36 and 38 years, were sentenced at the Pretoria magistrate’s court last week Tuesday, said Olievenhoutbosch police spokesperson, Sergeant Pretty Mokadi.
Kenneth Mkhize was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder, while Mtika Malani was given 15 years imprisonment for possession of unlicenced firearm and ammunition.
Mkhize was arrested in 2019, after he beat a man to death in Olievenhoutbosch.
“He got involved in an argument with the victim and thereafter, he started assaulting him in public. The victim was beaten to death before Mkhize fled the scene. With the help of the community, he was quickly found and arrested,” Mokadi said.
