Tshwane mayor, Randall Williams said the Mamelodi oversight visit broadly covered four core service delivery areas; electricity, road marking, waste management, and water and sanitation.

He said in majority of the areas, they found ongoing repair work of streetlights including a high mast light which are very important to light up various areas around Mamelodi to provide visibility and possibly reduce crime at night.

“In addition to this, the region has done a good job with road maintenance as we found work underway with patching of potholes and road markings,” said Williams.

“I was also pleased to note that one of the public parks in the area, Pienaars River park is well maintained with regular grass cutting and cleaning,” he added.
