Three injured in two-vehicle east collision
One man was found trapped in the overturned vehicle and rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free him.
Three men were injured when two light motor vehicles collided on Justice Mahomed Street, Menlo Park, on Monday morning.
Paramedics arrived shortly before 06:00 to find one vehicle on its roof on the pavement while the other was on the side of the road, said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“One man was found lying trapped in the overturned vehicle. Rescue services had to use specialised equipment to free him from the car in an operation took almost two hours,” he said.
“Once released, medics found the man was in a critical condition while another man from the other car was also in serious condition.”

Meiring said medics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support before they were transported to nearby hospitals.
“It is understood that another service transported another man who was in a serious condition before ER24’s arrival.”
