Robbery, property crimes increase in Pta North
In some cases, she said, gates were even removed from the sliding gate track.

Robbery and property-related crimes in the Pretoria North policing precinct were on the rise, police said.
“Common robberies are one of the crimes we have seen increase in the area,” spokesperson Sergeant Tsakani Miyen said.
She explained that in most cases, perpetrators would steal the victims’ belongings and then flee.
“They snatch bags or phones and run away, but they do not use any weapons,” she said.
Another crime Miyen said was on the rise was malicious damage to property.
“These cases normally occur when people break into houses to rob them but end up being disturbed,” she said.
In some cases, she said, gates were even removed from the sliding gate track.
Miyen added there were also cases of malicious damage to infrastructure.
“In some cases, they steal cables from railway lines and other municipal infrastructure,” she said.
