Mamelodi Sundowns team and fans will miss one of their famous drummers on the stands in their next coming matches.

Tributes have been pouring in for John Black Madumo, the man known as the “master drum” on social media.

Madumo passed away on Sunday after a short illness. He has been an avid Sundowns supporter since he was a young boy. Former Sundowns’ coach Pitso Mosimane paid tribute to the Madumo in a post on Twitter.

“My condolences to Masandawan. The loss of Bra John ‘Black’ Madumo comes with great shock and I know his presence will be missed in the stands. The sound of him beating that drum I donated to him not only kept the supporters going but motivated us and the players. Rest In Peace!”

In a post dedicated to Madumo, Sundowns tweeted: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of our beloved master drummer, John Black Madumo.

May your drum beat remain throughout the yellow nation forever.” #Sundowns #ForeverYellow”.”

Numerous videos of Madumo in action have been posted on social media since the announcement of his passing.

The videos show him passionately beating the drums for his side and no doubt enjoying it.
