eNatis system offline in some areas

“We would like to inform the public that the Live Enrolment Unit (LEU) machine is currently not working at all Tshwane licencing centres. The LEU failure is only affecting applications for driving licences,” says Selowa, Tshwane MMC for Roads and Transport.

The National Traffic Information System (eNatis) website was offline in several Pretoria areas.

The system being offline affected the Akasia, Bronkhortspruit, Centurion, Rayton and Waltloo areas.

Tshwane roads and transport MMC Dikeledi Selowa said he was notified of the system being offline yesterday.

“We would like to inform the public that the live enrolment unit machine is currently not working at all Tshwane licencing centres. This failure is only affecting applications for driving licences,” said Selowa.

He added that the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), as the custodian of all driving licence testing centres (DLTCs), is attending to the problem.

“This was disappointing following the recent announcement about the extension of the operating hours at the centres to accommodate driving license renewals.

“It is important to note that all other DLTC services are available and delivered as normal. Clients will not lose their appointments due to this technical glitch. They will be accommodated as soon as the system is up and running,” said Selowa.

He concluded that RTMC technicians were working to resolve the system breakdown. The metro will inform residents as soon as the system is back online.

Selowa further apologised for any inconvenience caused by the technical issue.
