The Moot police station asked for the public’s help in finding a missing man.
Clinton Cloete (24) Cloete was last seen in the Moot area on Tuesday, April 5.
According to his father, Willie, who is part of the Moot CPF, he was on his way from 23rd Avenue to the Skinner Street clinic at around 12:35.
“He was on his way to the clinic to renew his prescribed medication. As he finished, he phoned his partner to inform her that he is on his way home,” said Willie.
Since Clinton was reported missing, the family have received various phone calls about his whereabouts, but the information to go look for him was in vain.
“At around 16:00 on the same day we reported him as missing, he was seen at Melgisedek. We drove out to look for him, but we did not find him. Community members have also informed us that he was spotted on 33rd Avenue as well as Nico Smith Street.
“Since then, we cannot get hold of him on his cellphone as we suspect that the battery might have died.”
Willie added that they are concerned about his safety.
“It has happened in the past that he would disappear for a couple of days, but it is the first time that we have not seen him for almost a week now.
“No matter what may have happened, we just want our son back home,” the father said.
Moot police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt said there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
“You can help police when reporting a missing person.”
Cloete has light brown hair with green eyes. He is 1.7m tall and weighs about 70kg.
