Community patroller narrowly escapes armed robbers
Six armed robbers were believed to have been behind a shooting incident.
A PAJ Community Patrollers supervisor narrowly escaped being injured when suspected armed robbers fired several shots at the vehicle he was travelling in near Laudium on Thursday evening.
The supervisor was understood to have been on his way to assist an Ahisma Crescent resident following a robbery.
In a social media post, PAJ Community Patrollers said two more shots were also fired at law enforcement officers.
“When the PAJ CP’s R002 drove into the scene, the six armed robbers fled into Itireleng,” the post said.
A stolen Toyota Tazz was found abandoned at the end of Bengal Street.
“One resident was saved from serious injury and/or death. We were very lucky,” the post continued.
It called on residents to support them in their efforts to curb crime.
