A seven-year-old schoolgirl from Mamelodi will be representing South Africa at the International Little Model Earth pageant held in Tanzania this week.
Keabetswe Temane, a Grade 1 learner from Curro Academy in Pretoria, left the country via OR Tambo Airport on Wednesday evening for Tanzania, where the pageant will be held from April 14-21.
She was accompanied by her mentor Dr Mmatepeng Muda Temane from the Rotary Club Waterkloof.
Kea (as she is known) was expected to return to South Africa on April 22.
She is the current second princess, Little Miss Nations and Little Model Earth and Ambassador for Dignity Pink Bow.

The latter is an initiative to supply sanitary towels to schoolgirls.
Temane also runs her own “Sharing inspires Caring” project under the Ditsala Children Shield banner.
She donated clothes and shoes for needy children in the farming communities in Rustenburg, Mamelodi and surrounding areas.
Recently, she donated 35 doctors’ educational toy packs and photo frames to Jasmyn Creche.
Kea was involved with a clean-up campaign in Nellmapius where she worked hand-in-hand with ward councillor Shaun Wilkinson and a group of young volunteers from the AZEZ WAO World Mission Society Church of God led by Pastor Noah.
She also received a certificate of recognition from Wilkinson and the Tshwane metro.
“We are very proud of Kea’s dedication to giving and serving,” said Dr Senosha of Rotary Waterkloof.
