Local church donates food parcels to several Pretoria West communities
We are looking to extend our outreach to Hostels and Orphanages."
Driven by their passion and love for people, members of the Healing Ministries in Pretoria West distributed over 300 food parcels to families in West Fort, Elandspoort, Danville and Lotus Gardens, recently.
“Our commitment is to provide support to the furthest extent that our means allow us; we look forward to doing this more often,” said the pastor of the church, Avinesh Chetty.
Chetty said they wanted to show the community that they cared about them and only wanted them to grow closer to God in these trying times, especially after the effects of the lockdown.
“Our giving is not conditional to receive something back; we are simply compelled by the love of Christ to support the community we are part of.”
Chetty said they planned a blanket run and will continue to feed the homeless and vulnerable communities.

“We are looking to extend our outreach to hostels and orphanages. The lockdown has been tough on everyone and picking up the pieces can be quite difficult,” added Chetty.
Chetty thanked all the sponsors for their generous donations. “Many also brought hot cross buns and hotdog rolls for the community,” he said.
The coordinator from the Welfare Department, Shanaaz Hassen thanked House of Healing Ministries for their willingness and effort to donate almost 300 food parcels to vulnerable communities over the Easter period.
“We receive this with gratitude and thank you for the fact that this will not stop here but that it will continue especially entering into the winter period,” she said.
