Man critical after being stabbed in suspected Centurion jogging attack

Due to the nature of his injuries, the victim was airlifted by a NetCare911 helicopter to a nearby hospital.

A man sustained several stab wounds that left him in a critical condition during a suspected jogging attack in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion, on Saturday morning.

Emer-G-Med regional operations manager Kyle van Reenen said they responded to a call from a shopping centre in Centurion concerning reports of a stabbing incident.

Due to the nature of the injuries, the victim was airlifted by a NetCare911 helicopter.

“On arrival on scene, a male patient, in his 40s, was found with multiple stab wounds all over his body.

“It is believed that the patient was rushed to a doctor’s room by his wife after he was assaulted and robbed while jogging in the area,” said Van Reenen.

The patient was found to be in a critical condition and was stabilised on scene by emergency care practitioners.
