Boy (4) drowns in Mnandi
The local CPF members were giving the boy CPR when the paramedics arrived.
A four-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool on a smallholding in Mnandi, Centurion on Tuesday evening.
According to emergency medical and rescue service CERT-SA, who responded to the scene, members of the Olievenhoutbosch CPF were already giving the boy CPR when they arrived.
CERT-SA was unaware how long the boy had been under water before he was found by his parents and the members of the CPF.
“Sadly the child was pronounced dead on the scene following several minutes of CPR,” said CERT-SA.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear at this time and the police have opened an investigation.”
CERT-SA wishes to extend their thanks to the Olievenhoutbosch CPF, Netcare 911 and the Olievenhoutbosch SAPS for their assistance on the scene.
