Man (35) critical after taxi and SUV collision in Waltloo

Emer-G-Med spokesperson said several commuters from the taxi sustained minor injuries.

A collision between a mini bus taxi and an SUV left a 35-year-old man in critical condition on Monday morning, June 6, in Waltloo.

The accident happened at about 06:00 on the corner of Waltloo Road and Alwyn Street, according to Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

Upon the arrival of Emer-G-Med paramedics, they found multiple people with minor injuries.

“The critically injured patient was found in the SUV’s driver’s seat after the accident happened.

“He was then stabilised on scene by paramedics,” he said.

He added that the man was airlifted to a specialised facility due to the severity of his condition.
