Pretoria security officer goes missing
“He is so dedicated to his work. Even if he is sick, he goes to the hospital and goes back to work. That’s how he is,”
A 56-year-old man from Erasmuskloof in the east of Pretoria has been missing since May 25.
Speaking to Rekord, Michelle Botha (daughter of Marius Pretorius) said he is a Fidelity Officer for Menlyn Mall and an army veteran. She last spoke to him on May 23.
“On Wednesday night (May 25), I found out that he had taken his belongings and left. Only his uniform was left behind,” she said.
“No one has been in contact with him and no one has seen him.”
On May 26, Botha was still unable to get a hold of her father in an attempt to find out if he would be attending her birthday braai.
“I spoke to his wife and colleagues who all last spoke to him on Wednesday,” she said.

According to Botha, her father is a stand-up man who would never miss work.
“He is so dedicated to his work. Even if he is sick, he goes to the hospital and goes back to work. That’s how he is,” said Botha.
“Dad was the only good guy you could speak to regarding anything. And when he was with me, I always felt safe.
“It doesn’t matter what people say about him. I am not going to believe anything. It doesn’t matter what he is going through. As long as I know he is okay.”
Detective Sergeant Nthuseni Mudzanani of the Brooklyn police station confirmed the case was still under investigation and that there are no new leads.
