Mmakau artist releases hit song “Areyeng”
“Areyeng” is a fun song that is easy-going for everybody, fun and exciting and gets you going on the dance floor.
Local artist Oratile Marothi also known as “Witties n Monis spaghetti” made headlines with his Amapiano song titled “Areyeng” featuring Otshile Faith.
“Areyeng” is a Pretorian gimmick that is often used on stage by performers and emcees to engage with the audience and keep them captivated.
It is a fun song that is easy-going for everybody, it’s fun and exciting and gets you going on the dance floor.
The artist was born in Mmakau next to Ga-Rankuwa on January 29, 1990, and raised in Mothotlung. He now resides in Pretoria.
Witties’ parents discovered his talent when he was a mere two years old.
He used to sing along with apartheid songs by Blondie Makhele and also the legendary Chicco Twala.
Being inspired by the likes of Twins, TKZee, Mdu, Mawillies, BOP, Arthur Mafokate, and Trompies Witties’ love for Kwaito music became more serious in 1995.
Then came his favourite inspirational artist in the late 2000s Mzambiya Msawawa, Mshoza and Zola who drove his passion and motivated him to pursue his music career and never give up.
In 1998, Witties started dancing, rapping and singing at school while winning competitions.
The artist continued performing at community shows as well as recording himself on empty cassettes.
He joined a dancing group called One Big Family In 2003.

In 2004, he became a Pantsula choreographer and also did drama at the State Theatre in Pretoria.
While working at the State theatre he was able to record his demo for the first time at Black Eagle studios.
Following the demo, he then shared the stage with Oskido, Winnie Khumalo, Deejay Zinhle, and Rhythmic Elements to name but a few.
Witties recorded his second demo and songs like “Survivor” which gave him a great platform to also perform in his community.
It was in 2009 when he met DJ Khosto and worked with him on many tracks, that gave him a chance to perform with other well-known and popular artists.
In 2011, he had his first interview with leading radio station Motsweding FM.

He was also featured on Tshwane Sun while promoting his hit single Mapakisha which received a good reception in North West and Pretoria.
Witties later became part of two-tone records (Rhythmic Elements Stable).
They released a single called “Eewee” which got airplay and a great response from people during performances together with the music video which was shot later in 2012.
In 2013, he appeared with the likes of Dr Malinga, Black Motion, Donald, Thaso and Zulu Naja.
The following year he left Two Tone on his journey of starting his own record label.
Dia Kosa Entertainment was born out of his passion for music. This led to him working with Sir Javas, African Roots and DJ Buckz.
This only increased his determination to leave a mark on SA.
In 2015, he formed a group with his friend Justee when he shifted to Afrotec.
They worked together for three years.
They met Vusi Leeuw who loved their music and was interested in signing them. But because of group politics, Witties decided to go solo.
Witties is ambitious and determined in getting his music to the world.
