Water restrictions still apply in Tshwane
The metro and all of Gauteng is a water-scarce area with limited access to this precious resource.
Residents were reminded to use water sparingly as the Tshwane metro remains under level 1 water restrictions that were imposed previously.
These restrictions are in line with the water supply by-law.
“Tshwane as well as the entire Gauteng is a water-scarce area with limited access to this precious resource, primarily via the bulk water supplier Rand Water,” said metro spokesperson Selby Bokaba.
“As such, we must always be conscious of our water consumption and be careful to conserve it.
“Water conservation simply means using our limited water wisely and caring for it properly.”
To conserve this vital resource, the metro advised the following;

– Don’t water or irrigate gardens with a hosepipe or sprinkler system between 06:00 and 18:00.
– Don’t wash vehicles with hosepipes or high-pressure systems.
– Don’t fill swimming pools.

– No water supply, burst water pipes, leaking meters or blocked street sewers: 012 358 9999 or 080 1111 556

– Non-payment: 012 345 8514
– Account enquiries: 012 358 9999
“We all need to work together to ensure that the limited water the metro receives from Rand Water is sufficient for all residents to get enough.
“We all need to be water-wise and do what we can to save water,” he concluded.
