“It’s possible only if you put your mind to it.”

These are the words of young Tshwane University of Technology rapper Nkosiyazi Mtshali (21) whose passion is music.

Also known as Ghano he recently released a song titled “I refuse to die” cause I believe we can all be successful.

“The song is about the fact that I came to Pretoria not knowing anything, big streets, and buildings, like most of the things I see here. I used to see them on TV.

“And after being here for a while, I realised that life is moving fast and it is easy to be distracted but also easy to make it if you focus,” he said.

Ghano said he was in bed sick with depression when he wrote the song thinking he was dying last year.

“And the song was recorded early this year because I felt like what I was experiencing needed to be heard,” he said.

“I was so distracted in such a way that I was feeling like I can’t do it anymore, and I was about to give up.”

Ghano said he took a walk in the streets of Pretoria and saw a lot of students that are here too; striving and those that are hustling.

“I saw a lot of people in the street suffering from hunger, saw people who are successful and working in big buildings and I had to choose my path,” he said.

Ghano said he did the song to encourage people who have started working on their dreams but are distracted because of pressure… feeling like they have failed and need to stand up and make it.

“They can’t die now or go back home as a failure because where we come from, their eyes are on us,” he said.

Ghano said so far he has released three songs.

“I make my own sound that I believe has to be heard and I always make sure the song becomes a vibe,” he said.

Ghano said all his music is available on every digital platform.

“For anyone willing to listen to my music I am available everywhere as Ghano, or ghano_boi_sa,” he said.
