Tshwane Brew Route kicks-off Tourism month

The launch includes visits to three locations on the Tshwane Brew Routes map, namely Drayman’s brewery, Hazeldean brewery and Capital Craft Beer Academy.

To kick-off Tourism Month this September, the Beer Association of South Africa (Basa) launched the Tshwane “Brew Routes”, a new craft brewery route, on Friday.

Sibulele Mbalo of Tshwane Tourism Division said this new route will be added to the Basa Brew Routes map, which showcases over 150 breweries around the country and can be found online at www.brewroutes.co.za.

He said Basa launched the Brew Routes campaign two years ago to encourage South Africans to visit and support local breweries, and in this way, contribute towards the growth of beer tourism in our country.

“The launch includes visits to three locations featured on the Tshwane Brew Routes map, namely Drayman’s brewery, Hazeldean brewery and Capital Craft Beer Academy where guests will meet the brewers and be provided with an overview of the brewing process as well as beer tastings,” said Mbalo.

Guests are shuttled from the Capital Craft Beer Academy to the three different locations and back over four hours.
