Pretoria to get scattered showers despite severe thunderstorm in southern Gauteng
The South African weather service has said Pretoria will be minimally affected as it warned that a storm in the south of Gauteng can come with localised flooding, hail, and damaging winds.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a level 2 warning for a storm in the south of Gauteng this afternoon, November 22.
A level 2 warning is given for weather events with a high likelihood but a minor impact.
SAWS told Rekord that Pretoria is expected to have scattered rain overnight, but that the storm would miss the capital city.
The storm warning comes with an impact notice of hail with damaging winds and chances of flooding causing localised damage to settlements, falling trees, and damage due to high winds.
Poor driving conditions due to wet roads, reduced visibility and minor accidents or road blockages could affect commuters.
