30-year-old man killed in minibus accident
The minibus appeared to have rolled several times.
A 30-year-old man was found dead at the scene of an accident involving a minibus in Hatfield during the early hours of November 27.
According to Emer-G-Med paramedics, the minibus appeared to have rolled several times. First responders arrived at the N1 near the N4 interchange in Hatfield to find one dead man and many injured people.
“Injured commuters were found clambering to safety and an on-scene triage area was immediately established by incident commanders, while the Emer-G-Med Emergency Operations Centre dispatched additional resources to the scene,” said spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

Sixteen (16) injured commuters were stabilised and treated on-scene before being transported by ambulances to nearby medical facilities for further treatment. The injuries sustained by the commuters ranged from minor to moderate.
“An adult male aged about 30 was declared dead on the arrival of paramedics,” Van Reenen added.
No other vehicle was involved in the crash and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause(s) of the accident.
