Hundreds attend Brooklyn’s carol event

Restaurants were fully booked during the Brooklyn’s festive Christmas Carols on Wednesday.

Carols attracted hundreds of Capital City residents to Brooklyn Square, east of Pretoria, on Wednesday.

“It is lovely to see people coming in their numbers to attend the event after Covid-19 restrictions,” Brooklyn marketing manager Sheree McHaffie said.

She cited the lovely weather as a contributor to the success of the event.

The event treated attendees to classical music – thanks to the Pretoria Symphony Orchestra – and the wonderful food from the various restaurants in the mall.

“The feedback from our restaurants suggests that they were fully booked well in advance.”

She said the event was suitable for the whole family.

The event catered for adults and had a dedicated play area where children played for free. Among the playing equipment were a slide, seesaw and swings. Children were also treated to face painting and balloons.

“It is an entertaining event for families to enjoy Christmas Carols for the festive season,” she said.

“Christmas Carols are performed all over the world and they provide opportunities for the families to get together and celebrate the festive season.”

She said they wanted the families to visit Brooklyn Square and enjoy the evening.
