Tshwane bus service grounded due to fuel shortages

“It is not clear when will normal operations resume, however, the metro is engaging with service providers with the hope of returning TBS operations to full capacity soonest,” the metro stated.

Commuters were left stranded on Tuesday morning as bus services around Pretoria came to a halt due to fuel shortages.

In a statement released late on Monday afternoon, the Tshwane metro announced that the Tshwane bus services (TBS) will be suspended temporarily from tomorrow, January 31.

It apologised for the inconvenience caused and did not say when the service would resume.

“All the metro’s three fuel stations are currently empty following non-delivery of fuel by our service providers.

“It is not clear when will normal operations resume, however, the metro is engaging with service providers with the hope of returning TBS operations to full capacity soonest,” the metro stated.

Commuters were advised to make alternative transport arrangements in the meantime.
