Missing Centurion man (71) is safe, reunited with his family
My brother is home safe and sound, Rita
71-year-old Gidieon Theodorus “GT” van der Merwe is safe, in good health and has been reunited with his family.
Van der Merwe’s family travelled to Nelspruit on Thursday afternoon where he was last seen.
His sister, Rita van der Merwe, confirmed that his brother was indeed safe and sound.
“Theodorus is safe. We arrived 30 minutes ago and he is in good health, but he is a bit tired. I would like to thank people for helping us find GT and I am excited that we have him back,” Rita said.
Gidieon went missing on Wednesday in Eldoraigne, Centurion when he left home to get a cooldrink, but never returned.
Before he was found in Nelspruit Gidieon was seen in Brits where the security company spotted him on their red camera at the petrol station.
“He ended up in Brits where a security company spotted him on their camera at the petrol station.
“I am so excited that I don’t know what to say except thank you to everyone who supported us.”
