NGO continues Freedom month commemorations at Salvokop school

The NGO plans to pay special tribute to Solomon Mahlangu together with other freedom fighters at the upcoming Freedom Day celebrations.

Kool 2B South Africa took its Freedom month commemorations to JP Fourie primary school ahead of its upcoming Freedom Day celebration.

The visit forms part of a preamble to the NGO’s upcoming “Kool 2B South African flag and freedom appreciation week” which takes place from April 20 to 30.

Learners from the Salvokop-based school in Pretoria West were invited to take part in the NGO’s upcoming flag hoisting ceremony to be held on Freedom Day at Freedom Park, Pretoria West.

“We look forward to the much-awaited flag and freedom appreciation awareness week and celebrations starting on April 20,” said president and founder Khaya “Kool” Seoketsa.

“We plan to start with an open address for the proclamation of flag day at Saint Ann primary school and later with Kool 2B South African proclamation of flag lecture and conversation at Westpark primary school in marking and observing this day,” Seokestsa continued.

The local NGO also recently held a wraith-laying tribute ceremony to honour the late Solomon Mahlangu at the freedom fighter’s grave.

Freedom Park happens to be the birthplace of the NGO as it was launched there on July 29, 2022, to commemorate Mandela Month but had been in the works in Mahikeng since August 2009.

Schools interested in joining the Freedom Day celebrations including the flag and freedom appreciation parade at Freedom Park on April 27 are welcome to contact Khaya Seoketsa on 078 400 4866.
