Meet new Rietgat police social crime coordinator

“She brings a wealth of experience from visible policing, where she cut her teeth more than two decades ago.

Rietgat police have appointed Warrant Officer Stella Madumo the new social crime coordinator in the area.

“Her role will include visiting schools, working with NGOs, faith-based organisations, sister departments such as social development, correctional services and safe homes like old age homes and orphanages,” said Rietgat police spokesperson Captain Stephen Maluleka.

“She will also participate in awareness campaigns advocating for women and children and vulnerable groups.”

Maluleka told Rekord that Madumo is fit for the role owing to her experience

“She brings a wealth of experience from visible policing where she cut her teeth more than two decades ago.

She worked at OR Tambo International Airport, Norkem Park and Olifantsfontein, where she had a short stint as a social crime coordinator before going to Hebron police station.

“Before she was appointed a social crime coordinator at Rietgat, Warrant Officer Madumo was working at the Rietgat police station where she worked directly with the community by opening dockets, helping with certifying documents and issuing affidavits.”

Stella Madumo promised the community of Rietgat nothing but good service.

“I like new challenges and I will offer and deliver good service to the people of Rietgat policing precinct,” said Madumo.

Rietgat police station commander Brigadier Molatelo Maphoto welcomed Madumo and promised to support her every step of the way.

“Everything that Madumo needs as long it’s work-related, I do not mind getting calls at any time of the day, as long as it is in the interest of the people that we serve,” said Brigadier Maphoto.

The community is urged to work hand in hand with Madumo in making sure that crime within the precinct is reduced. She can be reached on 071 675 6240.
