Pretoria Fees brings back showground’s vibe

Pretoria Fees’ organisers say the show replaces the old Pretoria shows that used to take place at the showground.

One of Pretoria’s biggest exhibitions and music shows attracted thousands of people to the Legends Adventure Farm, east of Pretoria, on Saturday and Sunday.

The exhibition, popularly known as Pretoria Fees, saw individuals and families coming from around Gauteng to spend quality time together and shop in the Capital City for the long weekend.

The final show for the weekend is scheduled for Monday.

“The event is all about creating a safe space for families to come, relax and enjoy the day during the entire long weekend,” organiser Lisa Welsh told Rekord.

She expected a total of around 15 000 people to have attended the three-day event by Monday afternoon.

According to Welsh, though there were many people at the event in the first two days, it was interesting that they all looked relaxed.

“There is no rush – people are relaxing and have no pressure, which is our ultimate goal.”

She said the farm was created because “the Pretoria showground is now subdivided and no longer used as showground”.

“We want to fill that gap in the market.”

She said the farm has a five-year plan to bring back the old Pretoria shows that used to take place at the showground.

“That is the reason we are saying this year ‘Pretoria Hou Weer Skou’ meaning we are bringing a show again,” she said.

She said the event was suitable for the entire family as people enjoyed delicious meals and beverages from various stalls at the venue while listening to lovely music.

Children had several play areas to enjoy themselves, she said.

The event also attracted advertising from big businesses.

The event had a lifestyle section that showcased swimming pools, cars and paving for sale as well as chickens, goats, plants, tractors and other agricultural equipment in the farming section.

Those in attendance had an opportunity to even fly in an aeroplane.

Reveller Charne Voster gave the event the thumbs up.

“We are lucky to have such a beautiful event. It really brings a good vibe.”
