NGO closes Freedom Month in South African style

Watloo Meat and Chicken says that they plan to continue the effort next Freedom Month with the NGO.

Local NGO Kool 2B South African wrapped up its freedom appreciation week with a visit to central Pretoria this past Worker’s Day.

The NGO partnered with the national sports, arts and culture department and Watloo Meat and Chicken in the CBD to give out free boerewors rolls and cupcakes to the locals.

Founder of the NGO, Khaya “Kool” Seoketsa, said flags were also distributed during the effort to educate residents on the importance of acknowledging the month and the fighters that made democracy possible.

“We’d like to thank our partners for making the event possible. City dwellers enjoyed the treat and understanding more about our fallen liberators and the democracy they fought for which we enjoy today,” Seoketsa continued.

Watloo Meat and Chicken said that it planned to continue the effort with the NGO next year.

“We are excited that a retail corporation like Watloo Meat and Chicken is partnering with us in this venture, we call upon all others to join us as we bring pride, love and hope to our country,” Seoketsa stated.

Kool 2B South African planned to take its campaign to local and national townships, cities and villages throughout the rest of 2023 and beyond.

Kool 2B South African’s freedom appreciation week lasted from April 20-30 and the main event was at Salvokop, Freedom Park this past April 27.

The schools that attended included Jafta Fourie primary school, Jafta Mahlangu high school and Dulce September primary school.

Partners for this event were DSAC, Coca-Cola, Fanta, the Government Communication and Information Systems and the City of Tshwane.

During the appreciation week, the NGO laid a wreath on the grave of Solomon Mahlangu, and also visited Salvokop and Westpark primary schools.

Kool 2B South African later took Jafta Mahlangu high school learners to Mahlangu’s grave.
