942 suspects arrested in Tshwane through Operation o Kae Molao

Tshwane police arrested 942 suspects and confiscated one firearm during operations at the weekend.
The suspects were arrested in five different operations around the district, according to police spokesperson Johanne Van Dyk.
Van Dyk said Operation O Kae Molao started in Wierdabrug.
POLICE STOP-AND-SEARCH
“The law enforcement officers apprehended 14 individuals involved in various crimes, including possession of drugs, possession of illicit cigarettes and four suspects engaged in business robbery.
“On Wednesday, June 21, while conducting crime prevention patrols, officers from Hammanskraal SAPS responded to an assault complaint.”
He said during the police stop-and-search in Hammanskraal, police searched a vehicle and discovered a shotgun and six bullets.
Preliminary findings revealed that the firearm was stolen in Springs in April.
The suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The firearm will undergo ballistic analysis to determine its potential involvement in any crimes,” Van Dyk added.
LYTTELTON, CENTURION
Collaborative efforts between SAPS and multiple stakeholders led to the arrest of 57 undocumented immigrants, one individual for public intoxication and four persons involved in drug dealing in Lyttelton, Centurion.
Van Dyk said men and women in blue managed to confiscate 12 ziplock plastic bags of dagga weighing 268g.
He further said illegal liquor was seized, leading to the closure of five liquor outlets for violating the liquor control act.
“A total of 140 Aarto traffic infringement notices were issued during a roadblock, amounting to R118 500. Law enforcement personnel searched 1 371 individuals and 432 vehicles during this operation.
“Parallel to these efforts, detectives from various police stations in the city apprehended at least 259 suspects wanted for various crimes,” Van Dyk said.
The district spokesperson said the operation ended in Olievenhoutbosch police precinct on Saturday, where 303 individuals involved in various crimes were arrested.
This included nine for driving under the influence of alcohol, 41 undocumented immigrants and 11 for drinking in public.
“The success of all these operations was made possible through the collaboration of multiple stakeholders, including the departments of home affairs, labour, correctional services, community safety and crime prevention wardens, Tracker, Gauteng traffic, Tshwane metro police, local councillors, CPFs and police from various stations within the district.”
