Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Cassius Mailula closer to Joining a MLS team in USA
Mailula made his breakthrough during the 2022/2023 campaign where he impressed and earned a call-up to the national team.
The reigning DStv premiership champs Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that their youngster Cassius Mailula has attracted interest from North America.
The youngster only spent one season with the Brazilians after being promoted to the first team.
Mailula also known as ‘Cash no deposit’ is set to ply his trade during the next 2023/2024 season in the Major League Soccer.
Mailula made his breakthrough during the 2022/2023 campaign, where he impressed and earned a call-up to the national team.
Throughout 31 games in all competitions, he scored 15 goals.
He won the Young Player of the Season award thanks to his excellent play.
Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed being in discussions with a North American football club that expressed interest in acquiring the services of Cassius Mailula.
It is reported that the American top-flight team Toronto FC have offered huge money for the signature of the 22-year-old striker.
The youngster joined Sundowns’ academy when he was 13 years old and the team developed and nurtured him.
It is reported that he did not travel with the team to Holland for their pre-season camp as his camp is in negotiations with the MLS team.
Mamelodi Sundowns will make further announcements concerning Mailula in due course.
