Pet Community Outreach asks for donations to enable free vaccinations and sterilisations across Tshwane
It has recently moved premises and is currently operating on a mobile clinic, but requires vacant premises to open a community pet clinic.
An NGO that helps pet owners who cannot afford private vet services recently moved and is pleading for donations.
“We are currently in need of donations of wet and dry dog and cat food, blankets, food bowls and spay instruments,” Lori-Kay Erasmus, director and administrator at Pet Community Outreach (PCO) said.
PCO recently moved premises and is currently operating on a mobile clinic, but requires vacant premises to open a community pet clinic.
“We are looking for a place around Tshwane so that we continue the much-needed work for the animals in need,” Erasmus said.
PCO provides essential care to pets and free vaccination and sterilisation to pets whose owners cannot afford them and has been helping communities across Tshwane since 2019 in making sure that pets are free from infections and diseases.

Between April and December 2022, PCO sterilised 1 200 pets with the assistance of CCS vets, other organisations, locum vets and volunteers.
PCO supports other adoption and foster care organisations by assisting them with sterilisations, vaccinations, food and blankets.
Erasmus said they also do pet awareness campaigns.
“We visit schools and educate children on animal abuse, neglect and caring for their pet and primary pet healthcare,” she said.
Erasmus said this hands-on approach enriches the children’s lives from an educational and social development point of view.
She said they assist with feral cat projects by trapping, neutering and releasing (TNR).
“These services are offered to the communities in need on a donation basis.”

Erasmus thanked all her present sponsors.
“We would like to thank our supporters who make regular contributions towards our projects, without you these projects in the community will not be realised.”
She sends her appreciation to Pet And Pool, Little Companions, Palladium Hair, CCS vets and PCO volunteers.
